UpSens boasts consolidated skills in the development of specific and highly customised sensor solutions to monitor the environment. The company relies on the know-how of its team, on the production and testing facilities of Optoi Group, of which it is a part, as well as on the pool of technical and scientific talents of the Trentino-Alto Adige innovation ecosystem.
An expert in environmental monitoring sensors, UpSens creates custom solutions, starting from the customisation of existing products or developing ad hoc technology, to allow UpSens sensors to be integrated with the customer’s products.
The company aims to provide smart and innovative answers, which constitute a competitive advantage for the customer’s product, so as to enhance its perceived value.
It is possible to adequately customise the already developed sensors, or to proceed with the creation of ad hoc sensors, even at the component level, based on a single or multiple parameters, choosing the most suitable data-transmission technology for the specific need.
UpSens sensors can also be miniaturised for building integration, for example to detect air quality in forced ventilation systems and thus allow data to be collected and sent to a centralised cloud platform. These UpSens solutions are enabling smart green building 4.0.
UpSens is known to customers as a skilful and reliable technological and industrial partner, with significant specialisation in connected environmental sensors (IoT).
The experience gained over the years has allowed the company to define a collaboration model that leads to the development of new products or the customisation of existing sensors.
This model consists of four main stages:
The technical-economic feasibility stage consists of theoretical and/or experimental analyses; in this way, a report is created that allows us to decide whether a given idea can be transformed into a product. This stage is particularly important for the definition of the technical and economic specifications of the product, which will be developed in the next stage and which usually ends with the creation of a first prototype series.
Following testing and validation of the prototype series, UpSens undertakes the industrialisation phase of the product for subsequent mass production and, where necessary, takes steps for the certification of the product (or supports the customer in the certification stages).
Throughout the process, UpSens constantly supports the customer with utmost professionalism and skill and with a systemic approach. The ultimate goal is to create a repeatable, reliable and innovative product, so as to grant the customer a competitive advantage over their target market.
The company can count on the know-how of its team and on the production and testing facilities of the Optoi Group, of which it is a member, as well as on the pool of technical and scientific talent of the Trentino-South Tyrol innovation ecosystem.
Thanks to its membership of the Optoi Group, UpSens can rely on in-house production, with vertical control of the supply chain from microelectronic component to electronic system.
At Optoi there are
- a class 1000 cleanroom dedicated to microelectronic assembly: SMD, COB and MCM, on various substrates: metal, plastic and ceramic.
- an automatic and manual electronic assembly line.
